Successful Liver and Kidney Transplants Performed at Sahyadri Hospital

Pune, June 02, 2023 (TGN): Sahyadri Hospitals, the largest chain of hospitals in Western India, achieved another remarkable milestone with the successful completion of a liver and kidney transplant at Sahyadri Super Speciality Hospital, Deccan Gymkhana. The complex surgeries, performed through organ donation, were carried out by the expert medical teams led by Dr. Bipin Vibhute, Head of Liver and Multi-organ Transplant Department, and Dr. Atul Sajgure, Senior Consultant Nephrologist and Transplant Physician.

The liver transplant involved a 57-year-old recipient, who had been suffering from liver cirrhosis. The donor, a 49-year-old patient who unfortunately experienced brain death due to a Subdural Hematoma, presented a challenging case as a metallic stent was in the main blood vessel of the liver, reaching up to the heart. The medical team, led by Dr. Bipin Vibhute, successfully overcame these challenges in a 10-hour-long surgery. The recipient is currently recovering well, and close monitoring is being conducted to ensure optimal post-operative care and address any potential bleeding concerns.

In the kidney transplant, a 57-year-old recipient, who had been undergoing dialysis for the past 5 years, received a new lease on life. The donor's selfless act of organ donation has brought hope to countless lives. Dr. Atul Sajgure and his team performed the kidney transplant, with the recipient now showing positive signs of kidney function by passing 800-900 ml of urine every hour. This significant improvement in the recipient's health highlights the importance of organ donation and the impact it can have on enhancing the quality of life for individuals suffering from kidney diseases. 

Dr. Bipin Vibhute, Head of Liver and Multi-organ Transplant Department at Sahyadri Hospitals, who played a crucial role in both the liver and kidney transplants, expressed his satisfaction with the successful procedures, stating, "This liver and kidney transplant case presented unique challenges that required meticulous planning and execution. The surgeries lasted for an extensive duration of 10 hours, highlighting the complexity and precision involved in performing multi-organ transplants. I am truly grateful for the exceptional medical capabilities and unwavering dedication demonstrated by our team, which played a crucial role in ensuring the success of these surgeries. Mahanagar Gas Limited commences PNG supply at Raj Bhavan

 

• 3- kilometre MDPE pipeline laid with approximately 1.5 Km on BMC road under challenging conditions and 1.5 Km inside Raj Bhavan premises to supply PNG

• Apart from the residence of Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, 12 domestic PNG connections to bungalows inside Raj Bhavan and 198 PNG connections to staff quarters

MUMBAI, 02 JUNE 2023, (TGN)– Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), one of the largest City Gas Distribution companies in India, has successfully laid the pipeline infrastructure and commenced the PNG supply at Jal Bhushan Bungalow, the Residence of Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, with an inauguration ceremony in the presence of Shri Santosh Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra and Shri Ashu Shinghal, Managing Director, Mahanagar Gas Limited on 01 June 2023.

Mahanagar Gas Limited has laid the Medium Density Polyethylene (MDPE) pipeline for the supply of PNG with an approximate length of 3 Km out of which 1.5 Km is on BMC road and about 1.5 Km inside Raj Bhavan premises. Soon domestic PNG will be supplied to 12 bungalows of senior officials of Governor’s Secretariat and other 198 staff quarters inside and outside the premises of the Raj Bhavan through underground pipeline at 100 millibar. 

Commenting on the inauguration, Shri Santosh Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Hon’ble Governor, said, “We are pleased to announce the collaboration with MGL for the supply of PNG at Raj Bhavan. The inauguration of the pipeline network is set to supply PNG directly to the kitchen of Jal Bhushan Bungalow along with domestic PNG connections to other bungalows inside Raj Bhavan and the staff quarters in and outside the premises.”

Commenting on the commencement of PNG supply at Raj Bhavan, Shri Ashu Shinghal, Managing Director, Mahanagar Gas Limited said, “It is an honour for MGL as we set out to meet the domestic PNG needs of the highest office of the State of Maharashtra - Jal Bhushan Bungalow inside Raj Bhavan. With this we have reached one of the farthest points of South Mumbai. This is a step further in our commitment towards the safer and greener source of energy.”

PFRDA RELEASES HANDBOOK OF NATIONAL PENSION SYSTEM STATISTICS (2023)

MUMBAI, 2nd JUNE, 2023 (TGN): Today, Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority released its first annual publication of “Handbook of National pension System Statistics 2023” (HNPSS).

This publication, the first edition in the series, disseminates time series data on National Pension System and APY relating to all three phases of subscriber journey in the NPS system, namely: registration, accumulation, and at the time of exit in the NPS architecture in one publication. The current edition of the HPNSS contains 28 statistical tables covering time series and annual data on various parameters such as scheme-wise number of subscribers and their demographic profile, asset under management, contributions, withdrawals, grievance resolutions, net asset values (NAVs) for the period 2008-09 to 2022-23.

FC Goa appoints Manolo Marquez as new Head Coach

~ The Spaniard joins on the back of 3 successful seasons in Indian Football ~

GOA, JUNE 2, 2023 (TGN): FC Goa is delighted to confirm the appointment of Manolo Marquez as the Club’s new Head Coach. The Spaniard has put pen-to-paper on a multi-year contract that will see him take charge of the FC Goa First Team for the upcoming 2023-24 season and beyond.

With a footballing career spanning eight years as a player and then as a coach for nearly two decades, Marquez brings with him a wealth of experience. He is no stranger to Indian football either, having led fellow-Hero ISL side Hyderabad FC for three years between 2020 and 2023.

“We are very satisfied to sign with FC Goa, one of the best teams in the country. We’ve already been in the ISL for three years now and it’s a very important aspect to have knowledge of the competition and all the players that compete in the league. I’m confident we’ll have a good, competitive squad this year and we hope that the fans of Goa will enjoy watching their team in Fatorda,” said Manolo Marquez after signing on the dotted line for the Gaurs.

“ISL 10 will be a highly competitive season as the teams have gotten stronger with each passing season but we are confident that FC Goa will be in the fight for the higher positions.”

From Spanish lower leagues to ISL Triumph

FC Goa will be Manolo Marquez’s 14th team in charge, following his stints in various leagues worldwide. A former footballer, the Spaniard started his coaching career with his last club PB Anguera in 2003. This was followed by assignments in various lower leagues across the country with AE Prat, CE Europa, Badalona CF, RCD Espanyol B and UE Sant Andreu, before UD Las Palmas appointed him as the manager of their Reserves Team in 2016.

At the end of that season, Marquez’s side achieved promotion to the Spanish Segunda B Division (third-tier) as champions of the Tercera Division (fourth-tier), which led to him being handed the reins of the Las Palmas First Team in La Liga.

He went on to coach NK Istra 1961 in the Croatian Top Division and Ratchaburi FC in the Thai League 1 as well, before shifting base to Hyderabad FC in 2020.

The Spaniard’s tactical astuteness was in full sight during his tenure with the Nizams, who he led to better finishes each year compared to previous seasons. After finishing fifth in 2020-21 and second in 2021-22, Hyderabad under Marquez registered their best-ever finish in terms of points last season. He also helped them win their maiden ISL trophy in 2021-22. Beyond the results, he had also overseen the development of Indian players at the club that have led to 10 national team call ups for HFC first team players who were under his guidance over the three years. 

Along with Manolo Marquez, FC Goa also welcomes his team that comprises Benito Montalvo, Asier Rey Santin and Jose Carlos Barroso, who have joined the Club as the Technical Coordinator, Goalkeeping Coach and the Strength & Conditioning Coach, respectively.

After coaching stints with the Espanyol Academy in Helsinki and the Marcet Academy in Spain, Montalvo joined Hyderabad FC where he worked with Marquez. Santin was previously the goalkeeping coach of NorthEast United and Hyderabad FC.

The upcoming 2023-24 season will mark Barroso’s sixth year in Indian football, having worked with Jamshedpur FC, NorthEast United and Hyderabad FC prior to joining the Gaurs.
