चेंबूर, २७ ऑगस्ट २०२३ (TGN / Babita PM)– कल्याण ज्वेलर्स या भारताच्या दागिने क्षेत्रातील सर्वात विश्वासार्ह आणि आघाडीच्या ब्रँडने मुंबईतील चेंबुर येथे नवे दालन लाँच केले. ब्रँड अ‍ॅम्बेसिडर इलाया थैलागम प्रभू गणेशन आणि अभिनेत्री शिल्पा शेट्टी यांच्या हस्ते या दालनाचे उद्घाटन करण्यात आले व त्यानंतर या कलाकारांनी कल्याण ज्वेलर्सच्या काही ग्राहकांशी खास संवाद साधला. हे दालन चेंबुरसारख्या गजबजलेल्या उपनगरात सेंट्रल अ‍ॅव्हेन्यू रस्ता आंबेडकर गार्डन येथे वसलेले आहे. या लाँचमुळे कल्याण ज्वेलर्सच्या भारताची आर्थिक राजधानी मुंबईतील दालनांची संख्या ९ आणि महाराष्ट्रभर दालनाची संख्या १६ वर गेली.

MUMBAI, 26 AUGUST, 2023 (TGN| Sachin Murdeshwar): India has emerged as the fastest-growing global market for US Polo Assn (USPA), making up 15% of the clothing company’s global sales last year, said a top executive.

“USPA reached $2.3 billion (globally) at retail in 2022. Our initial plan was to get to $2 billion by 2025, so we exceeded our long-term strategic plan last year. And India has been a very, very important part of that growth with roughly 15% of retail. This is also our fastest growing market and is among the top three in the world," said J. Michael Prince, president and CEO of USPA Global Licensing, the company that manages and oversees the US Polo Assn brand.

Prince, who is in India to launch a new Legends marketing campaign and a new dedicated website with its longtime Indian licensee Arvind Fashions, told TGN
 the company is targeting a billion-dollar business over the long term from India. “We are very excited about the India opportunity and the growth in the market," Prince said.

As of now, USPA is close to a 2,000 crore brand in India, said Kulin Lalbhai, vice chairman and non-executive director, Arvind Fashions.










In the Indian market, US Polo Assn. has truly broken out as a leader. We will very soon cross the 2,000 crore mark. It took us around 10 years to hit the first 1,000 crore, and possibly in four years we are hitting the next 1,000 crore. That’s the way the brand is dominating the category and the beauty of this is that it’s a brand loved by people across age groups and segments. It’s become kind of larger than life." 

US Polo Assn has a presence in 190 countries across 1,100 stores, which it plans to take to 2,000 by 2030. It first signed a licensing agreement with Arvind Fashions in 2007 for India entry, but it was in 2009 that the brand’s merchandise officially became available in India.

As of now, Arvind Fashion runs 425 exclusive US Polo Assn stores in India and is planning to add at least 50 more every year, Lalbhai said. The brand’s growth strategy covers brick-and-mortar, omnichannel and e-commerce.

“Currently, 25% of the business is via digital and with a dedicated site, this will further grow. But, I don’t see any major change in the mix as we are also aggressively increasing our offline presence in the country. We have mapped by PIN codes and we are already in over 200 cities, so it’s time to even go in tier II and III cities," said Lalbhai.

One of India’s leading casual wear power brands, US Polo Assn is also the largest brand managed by Arvind Fashions, which also includes ARROW, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Flying Machine and Sephora.

On Friday, 25 August along with the new India website for the brand, the two companies also launched a new Legends campaign featuring actors Arjun Rampal and Milind Soman. It has also signed actor Palak Tiwari as the face of its women’s wear portfolio, which it is officially launching in India. US Polo Assn sells apparel for men, women and children, as well as accessories and footwear.Ends

Yes Bank partners fintech company Zaggle for corporate credit card with spend management

Yes Bank has launched a co-branded corporate credit card in partnership with Zaggle, which specializes in spend management.

The card targets corporations that allocate a substantial portion of their company's budget to travel and entertainment expenditures. The co-branded card enables the company to control expenses directly by setting individual spending limits, imposing restrictions on merchant categories, and implementing various other controls. Cardholders can access various perks, from rewards and golf privileges to lounge access and travel insurance.

Mr. Rajan Pental, Executive Director of Yes Bank, said the partnership with Zaggle empowers businesses to enhance their operational efficiencies by consolidating banking transactions, managing company expenditures, and tracking business-related overheads through a single platform.

NephroPlus launches world’s largest Dialysis centre in Tashkent

Hyderabad based NephroPlus, which runs a network of dialysis centres, on Thursday said it recently launched the World’s Largest Dialysis centre in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan.

After securing a contract worth USD 100 million where NephroPlus will independently commission and operationalise dialysis centres, a press release from the firm said the milestone achievement is part of a broader partnership with the Uzbekistan's Ministry of Health.

The fourth new state-of-the-art centre is the largest stand-alone dialysis facility in the world with a 160-bed setup, serving 900 plus patients in Tashkent.

Last year, NephroPlus announced the opening of two new dialysis centres, one each in Urgench and Bogot, Uzbekistan, while the first centre in Nukus, Karakalpakstan, became operational on April 22.

The establishment of all four new centres by NephroPlus will cater to at least 1,100 patients, providing high-quality care through haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis services. Additionally, the new facility will also offer vascular durgery, nephrology consultation and lab services, in addition to training for local clinical staff of Uzbekistan at NephroPlus's ENPIDIA Training Academy.

Global Fintech Festival (GFF) 2023 aims to aid startups bag $10 mn in funding

facilitate funding for startups alone and excludes growth-stage companies which will initiate conversations with investors at the three-day GFF 2023 starting from September 5

MUMBAI, 18 AUGUST, 2023 (TGN): Panelists and Organisers of the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) announced on Friday that the fintech festival aims to facilitate funding of over $10 million to start-ups in the fintech sector at the upcoming three-day event, scheduled from September 5-7 this year in Mumbai. 

This funding target is exclusive to start-ups in the fintech sector and does not include growth stage companies. 

"In the start-up category, about $10 to 20 million funding will happen at the event itself," said Naveen Surya, a GFF organiser and advisory board member, to TGN. 

Data from market intelligence platform Tracxn indicates that the fintech sector has seen a 67 per cent year-on-year decline in funding in the first half (H1) of 2023. Despite this decrease, the sector contributed more than 84 per cent of the total funds raised by Indian start-ups in H1 2023. 

"Technically, there have been challenges around funding, but if you see now, everything is fine. We are expecting 300 investors across angel, individual investors to someone who is a very large fund. There are a large number of investors, and we expect investment discussions, and some of it getting closed there (at the fest)," said Surya, to TGN media network while addressing a media press briefing. 

The three-day event in September will feature over 800 speakers and host over 250 investors and participants from across 125 countries. The event will also publish 15 thought leadership reports and 81 academic papers on India's fintech ecosystem. Prominent participants include Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister for Commerce and Industry, Textiles and Consumer Affairs Piyush Goyal, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das, among other regulatory and fintech executives. 

"Bringing the (fintech) ecosystem together is one of the reasons NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) is one of the key founders of the Global Fintech Festival. (Moreover), we want to bring in more women in the industry, support careers (for women), and create an environment where women will thrive in the industry as a founder, or someone who has just started out in their career,” stated Praveena Rai, chief operating officer at NPCI. 

GFF 2023 is supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Miety), the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), Ministry of Finance, the Reserve Bank of India, and the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA). The event is being organised by the Payments Council of India (PCI), Fintech Convergence Council (FCC), and NPCI.

"We are getting all stakeholders in one place to make sure all issues with fintechs, regulators, investors, and start-ups are addressed. All of them coming together is important as each (of them) understand their ecosystem, problems, and try to articulate what needs to be done. That is precisely the idea of the Global Fintech Fest,” explained G Padmanabhan, former executive director of the Reserve Bank of India.

ही एक सत्यघटना असून, ही 67 वर्षांच्या सुधीर पाटील यांच्यासोबत घडली आहे. पाय दुखत असल्याने जवळपास 6 वर्ष पाटील हे पंगू झाले होते. विविध रुग्णालयांमध्ये पाटील जाऊन आले, मात्र योग्य निदान होऊ न शकल्याने त्यांच्यावर योग्य उपचार होऊ शकले नाही. ज्यामुळे त्यांना होत असलेला त्रास कमी झाला नाही. मुंबई सेंट्रल स्थित वोक्हार्ट रुग्णालयातील डॉ. शीतल गोयल यांच्याशी संपर्क साधल्यानंतर मात्र पाटील यांच्या मनात आपण पुन्हा बरे होऊ शकतो ही आशा निर्माण झाली.  पाटील यांना व्हॅस्कुलर क्लॉडिफिकेशनची समस्या होती. यावर केलेल्या उपायांमुळे सुधीर पाटील हे आज पुन्हा चालायला लागले आहेत. शस्त्रक्रियेनंतर अवघ्या काही तासांतच पाटील यांना कोणत्याही वेदनेशिवाय चालता येऊ लागलं होतं. आपल्याला कोणत्याही त्रासाशिवाय चालता येत आहे हे कळाल्यानंतर त्यांना झालेला आनंद हा गगनात मावेनासा झाला होता.   

सुधीर यांना पायदुखीचा त्रास होत होता आणि हा त्रास बळावत गेला. एकवेळ अशी आली की त्यांना एक पाऊल टाकणंही अवघड झालं. पाटील यांनी जवळपास 6 वर्ष त्यांनी वेदनेने विव्हळत काढली. या त्रासामुळे त्यांच्या हालचालीवरही मर्यादा आल्या होत्या. त्रास फारच व्हायला लागल्याने त्यांनी मुंबई सेंट्रलस्थित वोक्हार्ट रुग्णालयात येण्याचा निर्णय घेतला. 

सुधीर पाटील वोक्हार्ट रुग्णालयात आल्यानंतर त्यांना होत असलेल्या त्रासाचे निदान करण्यासाठी डॉक्टरांचे एक पथक कामाला लागले होते. त्यांच्यावर बारकाईने चाचण्या, तपासण्या केल्यानंतर पाटील यांना होत असलेल्या त्रासामागचे कारण डॉक्टरांच्या लक्षात आले.  

पाटील यांच्याकडून माहिती जाणून घेतल्यानंतर, सखोल चाचण्या केल्यानंतर डॉ. शीतल गोयल यांच्या लक्षात आले की पाटील यांना व्हॅस्कुलर क्लॉडिफिकेशनची समस्या आहे. व्हॅस्कुलर क्लॉडिफिकेशनमध्ये पायांच्या नसा जाम होतात ज्यामुळे रक्तपुरवठा नीट होत नाही. 

व्हॅस्कुलर क्लॉडिफिकेशनचं निदान झालं असलं तरी नसा कुठे जाम झाल्या आहेत त्याचं अचूक ठिकाण कळणं गरजेचं होतं. डॉपलर चाचण्यांमध्येही नसा जाम झाल्याची नक्की जागा समजत नव्हती. यावर उपाय म्हणून डॉ.गोयल यांनी रेडियोलॉजिस्ट डॉ.अशोक बंसल आणि डॉ.अभिजीत सोनी यांची मदत घेतली. पाटील यांच्यावर डिजिटल सबट्रॅ्क्शन अँजिओग्राफी करण्याचा निर्णय घेण्यात आला. यामुळे पाटील यांच्या पायातील नसा कुठे जाम झाल्या आहेत हे अचूकपणे कळणार होतं.  

डिजिटल सबट्रॅ्क्शन अँजिओग्राफीमुळे हृदयापासून निघणारी महाधमनी ही 90 टक्के जाम झाली असल्याचे दिसून आले. यावर उपाय करत असताना अँजिओप्लास्टी करणे आणि स्टेंट घालणे यातून महाधमनीला इजा पोहोचण्याची शक्यता होती. यासाठी पाटील यांची संमती घेतल्यानंतर इंटरव्हेंशनल रेडियोलॉजिस्ट डॉ.अशोक बंसल आणि डॉ.अभिजीत सोनी यांनी कमीत कमी चीरफाड करत अत्यंत नाजूक प्रक्रिया पार पाडली. 

या शस्त्रक्रियेनंतर पाटील यांना अवघ्या काही तासांतच वेदनेशिवाय पुन्हा चालता येऊ लागले. 6 वर्ष पंगू झालेल्या पाटील यांच्यासाठी हा क्षण फार उत्कट आणि भावनिक होता. चालता येऊ लागल्याने त्यांच्या डोळ्यातून आनंदाश्रू आले. आपला त्रास दूर केल्याबद्दल त्यांनी वोक्हार्ट रुग्णालयाच्या डॉक्टरांचे आभार मानले. शस्त्रक्रियेच्या दुसऱ्या दिवशी पाटील यांनी 500 मीटरचे अंतर चालत सहज पार केले. पूर्वी इतकं चालणं त्यांना शक्यच होत नव्हते. 

पाटील यांच्या केसवरून रुग्णाचे अचूक निदान होणे किती गरजेचे आहे हे अधोरेखित होते.  निदानानंतर गुंतागुंतीच्या स्थितीत केली जाणारी शस्त्रक्रिया हे देखील अचूक निदानाइतकीच महत्त्वाची असते. सुधीर पाटील यांच्या या केसमुळे डॉक्टरांचे कौशल्य, रुग्णाला बरे करण्यासाठीची त्यांची धडपड आणि आधुनिक तंत्रज्ञानाचा कौशल्याने वापर या गोष्टींची गरजही ठळकपणे दिसून येते.
